Avis American Legion donates to Crossroads Church

LAURA JAMESON/THE EXPRESS

The Avis American Legion Post 248 donated $5,000 to Crossroads Church on Sunday during their regular service. Vice Commander Ralph “Skip” Ferrara, who attended the service, said the legion tries to donate money to various organizations throughout the community every year. This isn’t the first time they’ve donated to Crossroads, he said. Skip also gave a round of applause to the church’s band that performed at the start of the service. “You’ve got one heck of a good band here,” he said to loud cheers. Head Pastor John Phillips thanked Skip and the other members of the legion for their generous donation. Pictured above, from left, are Skip, Pastor Booker T. Riddick and Head Pastor John Phillips.
