Finding Faith: America’s Holy War

I have heard the statement “America does not fight religious wars” more than once and in diverse circles. The fact is that the American Revolution was fought over the 27 biblical violations of the monarch King George III. Americans have fought the “Spirit of Antichrist” embodied in such historic figures such as Napoleon and Hitler.

Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that antichrist is coming; even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that this is the last hour. (John 2:18)

From childhood, we have contended with the threat of nuclear inhalation and Armageddon.

Then there is the twist concerning asteroid strikes and yes…again…an Armageddon scenario.

The defense conversation has attempted to separate our intent, as a religious people, to a more socialist platform that excludes the existence of God from that conversation and focuses on nations, people groups and more antagonistic organizations. Hence the aforementioned quote concerning religious wars, which proceeds from faulty logic and an obsession to remove the “Star of David” and the “Cross of Christ” from the American landscape.

This conversation has become a political plank, which President Lincoln warned us about; our enemy would come from amongst us. The attacks on the Constitution of the United States, and more specifically Religion and the “Right to Bear Arms,” come from liberal national socialism advocates.

Is it any wonder that persons in this charged socio-political environment become morally disconnected from the guarantees and freedoms protected by the US Constitution. This is why there has been many many attacks on “Houses of Worship” since 1999 and “across the board” of religion.

We might take a lesson from the Prophet Micah in his indictment of “National Sin.”

….Listen, O earth and all its contents, And let the Lord God be a witness against you,

The Lord from His holy temple….

….All this for the rebellion of Jacob

And for the sins of the House of Israel….

(Micah 1:2 and 1:5)

The result of continuing in the downward spiral of “National Sin” was the destruction of the Northern and Southern Kingdoms by Nebuchadnezzar and the exile of the Jewish youths to Persia; taken with hooks in their mouths. This God considered to be a “….smack on the cheek..” (Micah 5:1).

Think of it. The complete decimation of the nation was but a slap on the cheek in the economy of God. Then God does His God thing. He supplied the restoration of the nation that paved the way for her coming Messiah who, prophetically, will be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2f).

Add to the aforementioned location the time frame of the first advent, God starts His stopwatch at the completion of “Nehemiah’s Wall” by Daniel’s prophetic reckoning of for the time of the “Seventy Weeks” of the coming Messiah (Daniel 9:24-27).

It is a wonderful gift God has given, Himself. He provided the information necessary for anyone who had access to the Old Testament Scriptures in that time frame, or in the day, to actually be present for His birth (Matthew 2:1-11). He then punctuated the miraculous with something marvelous, His star.

I am afraid for our country because of the ‘American Counter-Christ’ direction and goals of many of her citizens and “National Sin.” Which country will God assign to … “smack on the cheek” our America?

This is something that could happen in our lifetime if we fail to correct our national direction and return to a faith-based morality. On a personal level, we must correct our own conduct with regard to God and to each other.

Here are just a few organizational locations where some of the recent attacks in this “Holy War” (2017-2018):

– Shooting — Pittsburgh Synagogue, Tree of Life – L’simcha Congregation (1864) – located in the

Squirrel Hill area (intersection of Wilkens and Shady avenues – 270952QOCT2018. Eleven people were killed and six were wounded, including four police officers.

– Shooting — Emanuel Church Charlotte, N.C.

– Shooting — Emanuel AME Church Charleston, S.C.

– Shooting — First Baptist Sutherland Springs, Texas

– Shooting — Burnette Church of Christ Nashville, Tenn.

– Shooting — Hiawatha Church of God in Christ Ashtabula, Ohio

– Shooting — St. Alphonsus in Fresno, Texas.

There are other organizations that include an Amish School, Sikh Temple and Benedictine Monastery.

More close to home, there was a homicide that took place during church services in Coudersport, Pennsylvania in December 2012. We are not exempt, or far from the altogether righteous judgement of Almighty God. The Scriptures tell us that the LORD is coming, the “Second Advent.” But this time He is coming to reckon the books of humanity, to judge the nations as the “Warrior King” with white hair like wool and a tongue as a sword (Daniel 7:9 and Rev. 1:14-16), and to execute the already pronounced judgement against Satan and all his minions (Col. 2:15, Rev. 20:7-10).

Will America idoly stand by while the fires of California burn, Alaska quakes and trumpets of national glory fades? Will Americans continue to ignore national sin and these birth pangs of a greater judgement? Or will we stand up for the Sanctity of Life and of Marriage?

I believe God has future blessings for America, if we change our national direction toward Him.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not calamity to give you a future and a hope. (Jer.29:11)
