Backpack giveaway

LAMAR –Lamar United Methodist Church is having a backpack giveaway for school age children on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Lamar Methodist Church annex.

All children are welcome to come and pick up a backpack with school supplies inside.

Chicken barbeque

at Dunnstown UM

DUNNSTOWN — Dunnstown United Methodist Church, 59 Church St., Dunnstown, will be hosting a chicken barbeque on Saturday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The meal will include chicken, grilled by the Dunnstown Fire Company, baked beans, macaroni salad, roll and cake.

The meal costs $10 and will be take out only.

Beech Creek Wesleyan

BEECH CREEK — National recording artist Lynn Swizinsky will be in concert at Beech Creek Wesleyan Church on Sunday, July 21 during the 9 a.m. worship service.

He has recorded his 7th solo album as well as having recorded on five group albums. He has shared the stage with such Gospel greats as, The Couriers, The Jacobs Brothers and many more.

If you would like to hear a great selection of smooth Gospel music as Lynn performs all time gospel greats as well as some of his own original music, plan to come and join members of the church.

Chicken barbeque at Oval UM

JERSEY SHORE — Oval United Methodist Church, 6796 Route 44 Hwy., Jersey Shore, will be holding a chicken barbeque on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The menu will consist of half chicken, baked beans, macaroni salad, cole slaw and cake at a cost of $10.

Those who purchase a meal will have the option of take out or eating it at the church’s pavilion which is handicap accessible.

LOCK HAVEN — Great Island Presbyterian Church will be hold this Sunday’s service in the 1900 Red Barn along Island Road.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude with a pot luck. Dress will be casual.

Everyone is welcome to come join the service which will include special music by the Great Island Praise Band, directed by Suzanne Car and Lock Haven’s own “Racketears”

Bring a dish to share and enjoy an hour from yesteryear!

McELHATTAN — McElhattan United Methodist Church, 502 McElhattan Dr., will be holding a buffet style breakfast today from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. A donation of $8 for adults and $4 for children is suggested.

New Hope Fellowship

to hold yard sale

MILL HALL — New Hope Fellowship Church, 6436 Nittany Valley Dr., Mill Hall, is looking for interested vendors to take part in a yardsale today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost of a vendor space will be $10 for 10 feet by 12 feet space. Stabler’s Grove Camp

LINDEN — Pine Run United Methodist Church, 1719 Pine Run Rd., Linden, will be hosting the 84th annual Stabler’s Grove Camp Meetings from July 21 to July 28 beginning at 7 p.m. each night. There will be a Children’s night on Monday, July 22 and a hot dog roast/youth night on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Evangelist Steve Housewright will present the message each evening with a theme of “Life Cycle of a Christian.”

Bible Club at Milesburg UM

Summer Coffeehouse services

MACKEYVILLE — Mackeyville Summer Coffeehouse Services will be held again this year at the Mackeyville United Methodist Church on Saturday evenings with a community picnic and fire ring today, Aug. 17, and Sept. 14. All are invited to the Coffeehouse Service.
