DUNNSTOWN — July 27 was a joyful day for the historic Dunnstown United Methodist Church. Their congregation was blessed with volunteer help from the members of the Dunnstown Volunteer Fire Company, who generously provided their time, equipment and chicken cooking talents to their fund raising project.

A shining firetruck attracted many visitors and the fire company volunteers provided the public with safety brochures and free smoke alarms.

Terry Banfill, along with Thomas the Train appeared at the church, delighting many children with sightseeing rides up and down the neighborhood streets. Face painting talents were on display along with the tasty, tempting hotdog and sauerkraut offerings which completely sold out before the event concluded.

The delicious annual barbeque chicken dinner was once again a success, thanks be to all community friends and neighbors who provided support for this happy event.

This annual barbeque is the church’s way of sharing their church with this community. They would like to extend their invitation to come and experience their Sunday worship services. Church services begin at 10 a.m. every Sunday and Sunday school begins on 8:45 a.m.

Families are always welcomed so please come and join them at the Dunnstown United Methodist Church.
