Ice Cream Festival

SWISSDALE — Swissdale United Methodist Church, 974 Croak Hollow Rd., will be hosting an Ice Cream Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14 beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Homemade ice cream in flavors such as banana, maple nut, strawberry, pineapple, peanut butter, vanilla and chocolate will be available as well as hot sausage, hot dogs, barbeque sandwiches, and funnel cakes.

There will also be games for kids to enjoy!

Block Party at Trinity UM

BELLEFONTE — Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, will be hosting a block party on Sunday, Sept. 15 beginning at noon.

There will be free hot dogs, hamburgers, side dishes, deserts and beverages available with a performan by Bruce Wallace & Company.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy good food and have a chance to meet their new pastor Doug Conway.

The church’s worship service will being at 10:30 a.m.

Outdoor worship this Sunday

JERSEY SHORE — Trinity United Methodist Church will be holding outdoor worship service and picnic celebrating Grandparents day on Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in pavilion three at Little Pine State Park.

Those who attend are asked to bring a dish to share and camp chairs for comfort. Powerstrips and extension cords will be available for those who may bring heated items. Hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and table service will be provided.

Homecoming Celebration at St. Luke’s

FLEMINGTON — On Sunday, Sept. 15, St. Luke’s United Church of Christ will be having a Homecoming Celebration beginning at 10:45 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.

All members are invited to attend the homecoming and celebrate “you,” the members of St. Luke’s.

Family Day at McElhattan UM

McELHATTAN — McElhattan United Methodist Church invites every to join them for Family Day on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 9:30 a.m.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their family and “pack-a-pew.”

King’s Kids fall session

BLANCHARD — Blanchard Church of Christ will be holding King’s Kids Fall Session beginning Monday, Sept. 16 at the church.

The after school program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade will begin at 3 p.m. and run to 4:30 p.m.

Children will rotate through snack, recess, Bible lesson, video lesson, game time, science lab and song time in this fast-paced after school program.

The program will run for seven weeks, ending on Oct. 28 with a carnival and parent open house.

Transportation is provided from Liberty Curtin School, however any school district or homeschool child is welcome to attend.

Grandparents day at St. Luke’s

FLEMINGTON — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ will be celebrating Grandparents Day this Sunday at its 10:45 a.m. worship service.

The church will also be hosting a guest speaker, Sue Weller.

Laurel Run UMC celebrates 125 years

BEECH CREEK — Laurel Run United Methodist Church, 2899 Laurel Run Rd., Beech Creek, will be celebrating its 125th birthday on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.

There will be food, fellowship and special music. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Please bring a dish to share.

Soup sale and luncheon

HOWARD — Howard United Methodist Church will be holding a soup sale and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Cost is $6 for lunch or a quart of soup. Pre-orders for quarts of soup should be made by Sunday, Sept. 15.

The soup will come in freezable containers.

Learn how to make prayer beads

AVIS — Sugar Valley United Methodist churches’ Pastor Elizabeth Taylor will be coming to Avis United Methodist Church on Sept. 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. to teach interested individuals how to make prayer beads. Anyone who may be interested in joining the workshop is asked to speak with the church office’s secretary or Pastor Joe Hopkins by Sept. 4. Please bring $5 to help offset the cost of materials.

Tureen at Salona/Rote UM

SALONA — Rote and Salona United Methodist Churches will be holding a Tureen beginning at noon at Salona United Methodist Church, 624 Long Run Rd., Mill Hall, on Sunday, Sept. 15. Another Tureen will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29 at Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Rd., Mill Hall, beginning at noon.

Avis UM church breakfast

McELHATTAN — Avis United Methodist Church will be holding its Church Breakfast today and Saturday, Oct. 5 beginning at 8 a.m. at Restless Oaks Restaurant. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy good fellowship along with good food. Bring family, a friend or a neighbor.

Bible study at United Evangelical

LOCK HAVEN — United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 104 W. Church St., Lock Haven, will begin hosting Youth Bible Study on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The program will take place every month and include dinner, a bible lesson, crafts and music with Pastor Karl Runser. Youth of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
