First Quality selling bottled water company

LOCK HAVEN – First Quality Group is selling its bottled water operation, the manufacturing group announced Thursday.

Niagara Bottling, LLC is the buyer.

First Quality Water & Beverage, LLC began manufacturing bottled water in 2008, according to a statement from the group. The manufacturing operations were in Lock Haven, where it could take advantage of the market growth as a regional supplier.

Business and industry dynamics have changed since 2008, according to First Quality Group, and “the future of this asset and its customers will be better served being part of a strategic owner with a national footprint.” The statement continued, “The company is working very closely with the buyer to ensure the seamless transition of supply to our customers over the next couple of months.”

All the First Quality Water & Beverage employees are to be offered opportunities to continue their careers with First Quality at other First Quality Group companies, including at the currently expanding tissue manufacturing operation at the Lock Haven site, where the bottled water operation is located.

First Quality Water & Beverage, LLC is a member of the privately held First Quality family of companies, a leading manufacturer of non-discretionary consumer products.
