Curt’s Smokin’ Ribs hit by fire, but open

Flames hit outside pavilion

Smoke hovers over the outside pavilion at Curt's Smokin' Ribs in Bald Eagle Township on Wednesday afternoon.

MILL HALL – A fire hit Curt’s Smokin’ Ribs on Wednesday, but the business remains open. Firefighters from multiple area companies were called to Curt’s at 243 Pennsylvania Ave. in Bald Eagle Township, just outside of Mill Hall, for a fire at the eatery’s outside pavilion. The call went out just after 2:30 p.m. with a reported outside area ablaze and spreading to other parts of the building, the Clinton County Emergency Communications Center reported.

Flames were reported contained to the pavilion area, where the business smoked its meats.

According to owner Curt Candor, Curt’s Smokin’ Ribs will remain open. Lost in the fire was the pavilion, cooler, food and pizza dough. There was no immediate estimate on damages. “Everything is fine,” he said.
