Christmas parade canceled; Santa run rescheduled, but kids activities still on today

LOCK HAVEN – The annual downtown Lock Haven Christmas Parade scheduled for tonight, Dec. 1, has been canceled due to cold rain forecast to start in the afternoon.

The Santa 5k Run has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. next Saturday, Dec. 8, starting at the beach pavilion on the levee Riverwalk at the foot of Vesper Street in downtown. Registration for that run next week will start at 9 a.m. Call Downtown Lock Haven next week at 570-748-1576 for information.

Today, however, the Station Gallery is still hosting activities for kids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the gallery, located at 2 East Bald Eagle Street, behind City Hall.

And, Santa will be in his hut waiting for the children starting at 5 to 8 p.m. in Triangle Park. Santa has gifts for each child. Parking is available on West Main, right next to Santa’s Hut at the park.

The Station Gallery is teaming up with Downtown Lock Haven, Inc., hosting many Haven Holiday activities today, Saturday, Dec. 1 outside of the gallery.

There will be train rides, crafts and more. The gallery will help kids create a holiday selfie and shopping will begin at the gallery and all throughout downtown. Dec. 4th, the gallery will host the holiday Winter Concert by the LHU Choir, and December 14th is the Station Gallery’s Holiday party from 6 to 9 p.m.

“There are lots of opportunities to get together with friends and family to enjoy the arts with the Arts Council in Lock Haven,” Clinton County Arts Council President Carol Cillo said.
