Paul H. Butler

Paul H. Butler, 83, of Renovo went home to be with the love of his life on April 1, 2014.

He was born May 21, 1930 in Coudersport, the Son of William and Mae (Holder) Butler where the family owned a dairy farm.

He joined the Navy in May of 1948 and served as a Corpsman/Medic during the Korean Conflict. He was honorarily discharged in November of 1951.

He came to Renovo for work, it was then that he met his beautiful soul mate,Bessie. They were married on Nov. 15, 1952 in Coudersport, Pa..

He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for several companies on numerous projects. . He officially retired in 1996 and then worked part time for K & L Auto.

As a heavy equipment operator he was involved in various construction projects in his career and is most proud of working on Beaver Stadium in State College and shaping Interstate 80 through the mountains of central Pennsylvania.

Paul was a BPO Elks trustee in Renovo, a trustee and member of the Presbyterian church, a member of the American Legion and VFW in Coudersport.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Bessie Arndt, his parents one brother Claire Butler and two sisters Olive (Butler) Milchuck and Thoras Butler.

His is survived by one brother William Butler of Cory, Pa. and Donna (Butler) Schroder of Coudersport, Pa. Also surviving are three children, Herbert Probst Jr. of Jersey Shore SNF, Ruby (Probst) Schmidt, Ephrata, PA and Linda Butler of Reynoldsville, Pa., 12 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren survive.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Burial will immediately follow at North Bend Cemetery.

Paul was a wonderful husband, Father and well respected by all who knew him. He was an honorable and faithful man who will be sadly missed and forever loved.
