Ella Mae Poorman
Ella Mae Poorman, 98, formerly a resident of Heartland Personal Care Home, Woolrich, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born in Howard on March 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Jenny Hughes Brickley.
In 1935 Ella married Budd O. Poorman whom she celebrated 71 years of marriage with before his passing on Dec. 16, 2006.
Ella was an Avon Sales Representative for over 50 years.
She was a member of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ, sharing her love for singing by being a member of the choir. Ella also participated in the monthly hoagie sales at the church.
Ella enjoyed playing cards and crocheting.
She also cherished the time she spent at home caring for her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Edwina “Winnie” M. Geraty of Mill Hall, Sandra F. (William) Koch of Allentown, and Darla L. Logue of Cape May, N.J.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great- great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 3 p.m., at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Steve Salmon officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lock Haven First Church of Christ through the funeral home.
