Dale L. Miller

Dale L. Miller, age 65, of Wellsboro, died on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at his camp in Willing, N.Y.

He was born on May 21, 1951, in Lancaster, Pa., a son of the late Lewis D. and Dorothy M. (Hoffmaster) Miller and was the husband of Amy (Anderson) Miller.

He served for over 20 years as a United Methodist minister and worked for 15 years as a Tioga County behavioral specialist and in crisis intervention.

Dale was a member of the Wellsboro United Methodist Church, Outdoor Writers Association of Pennsylvania, President of the Wellsboro Lions Club, past president of the United Bow Hunters of Pennsylvania and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading, writing, baseball and was a published writer in the Wellsboro Gazette and the Pennsylvania Game News.

Dale is survived by his wife, Amy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Lauren Miller of Elkins Park, Pa., and Steven and Rev. Suzanne Miller of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law Kristy and John Parish of Fleetwood, Pa.; brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Phyllis Miller of Mt. Joy; sister-in-law Nancy Miller of Raynhan, Mass.; sister Carolyn Miller of Shillington, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Glenn Miller.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Wellsboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Rich Hanlon officiating. Another viewing will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Paradise, Pa., with a graveside service following.

Interment will be in the St. John’s UMC Cemetery, Paradise.
