Kathryn D. Hunter

Kathryn D. (Kay) Hunter, 79, of Mill Hall, entered into rest on Tuesday Oct. 4, 2016, at her home.

Born Nov. 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ray C. and Shirley (Hoy) Dietz of Mill Hall.

Kay was a 1954 graduate of the former Mill Hall High School and the former Williamsport Community College. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Richard S. Hunter, Jr. on July 20, 1957, who survives. They were married 59 years. Richard was her lifelong love and best friend.

She worked at Piper Aircraft and retired from Textron-Lycoming as warranty manager.

Kay is survived by two children: Gregory (Leslie) Hunter of New Bern, N.C., and Rae (William) Weber of Williamsport. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Nathan, Aaron, Hannah, Michael, Danielle and Travis.

She enjoyed cooking and baking activities with her family (especially her grandchildren) and her many friends. In her more recent years, she was active in several card clubs and Red Hat ladies.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, with Pastor Susan Champion officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay’s name to Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute Visions of Hope program through the funeral home.
