Casper L. Peters
Casper L. Peters, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 from his earthly home in Blanchard.
Born in Lock Haven on August, 21, 1949, he was a son of the late Lester J. “Tub” and Caroline E. “Toppy” Robb Peters.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth “Peter,” and a sister, Shirley Mayes.
Casper graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1968 and was a longstanding member of the Beech Creek Legion and the Castanea Fire Company.
Casper worked construction for Hoy and Harger in the ’70s and retired from Champion Auto Parts after 17 years of service.
In his younger years, Casper was involved with the Beech Creek/Blanchard Jaycees. He was fond of playing softball games with friends and participated with the B’s Pizza Shop softball team. He also enjoyed throwing darts with the Beech Creek Hotel dart team and the Linger Inn dart team,
Casper enjoyed spending time with friends and family and opened his home every Memorial Day for the annual parade.
He was an avid hunter and spent numerous weeks on the ocean fishing.
You could always count on Casper for a good laugh and a warm smile. He will be sadly missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Bill) Baney and grandson, Justin. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy (Earl Tressler) Rickert; brothers David “Boog” (Pat), Robert “Baldy” (Annie), John “Toots” (Linda) Peters; brother-in-law Tom Mayes and several nieces and nephews. He was everyone’s favorite uncle.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 at noon at the Blanchard Church of Christ, Beach Street, Blanchard, with Rev. Dr. Russel J. Moldovan officiating.
Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11 am till noon.
Burial will be at the Blanchard Christian Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
