Sherman David Shadle, III

Sherman David Shadle, III, 64, of 417 S. Highland St., Lock Haven died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Divine Providence Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport.

He was born May 12, 1952, in Lock Haven, the son of the late Sherman David Shadle, Jr. On Sept. 4, 1970, in South Carolina, he married the former Carol Anne Geyer who survives.

Sherman was a 1970 graduate of Lock Haven High School. He was employed for 36 years by Woolrich, Inc. as a mail courier. He served in the United States National Guard.

He attended the Mill Hall Church of Christ. Sherman was an avid collector and seller of antiques. He was a lover of music, played several different instruments and was a member of different bands throughout his early years. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Sherman is survived by a daughter, Krista Shadle-Smith (Geoffrey) of Flemington; a son, Sherman David Shadle, IV (Nichole) of Jersey Shore; and four grandchildren, Amy, Leslie and Haley Shadle, and Sophia Smith.

Friends will be received on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, 17745.

Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Library, 232 W. Main St., Lock Haven, 17745.
