Floyd A. Layne

Floyd Anderson Layne, 82, of 1478 Renovo Road, Mill Hall, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born on June 2, 1934, in Cullen, Virginia, one of 17 children, 12  boys and five girls born to the late Spencer and Marion Layne. He married the former Agnes Zagusta.

Floyd was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Swissdale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed dancing, bowling and singing in the church choir. He was a member of the Beach Creek American Legion and the Lock Haven 40 & 8 Club.

He is survived by his wife Agnes of 62 years as well as two sons and two daughters, David Floyd Layne (Janet) of Levittown, N.Y., Thomas William Layne (Alys) of Levittown, N.Y., Denise Agnes Layne of Gibsonia and Deborah Ann Pritts (Kraig) of Ocala, Fla. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Martha Li Shu Layne and Miriam Shu Hua Layne, both of Gibsonia.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with the Reverend Deborah Pritts officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be at the Swissdale Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017.
