Jesse Lawrence Fry
“alignnone size-full wp-image-678027″ src=”http://s3.amazonaws.com/ogden_images/www.lockhaven.com/images/2016/12/28114053/obit-flag-2x.jpg” alt=”obit-flag-2x” width=”725″ height=”401″ />Jesse Lawrence “Larry” Fry, 77, of South Williamsport, died Thursday, Dec 29, 2016, from a three and a-half year battle with cancer.
Larry was born at Williamsport on Jan. 28, 1939, a son of Jesse A. and E. Virginia (Sechler) Fry.
Larry attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from the Williamsport High School in 1956.
Larry joined the United States Navy and served aboard the U.S. Hollister, a navy destroyer, in the Pacific Fleet, where he served as a fireman. He served from 1957 to 1959 on active duty and then 1960 to 1963 on inactive service. After his naval service he worked for Textron Lycoming as a radiographer for 35 years.
He was a member of and attended St. Joseph the Worker Parish Catholic Church.
In 1958 Larry married Mary Ann Henry, and together they shared 58 years of marriage.
Jesse was a super husband, father and grandfather. He was a total family man. His favorite things to do were traveling to Florida for two months over 25 years, and watching Penn State football and the Steelers. His most favorite thing was family time with friends fishing and picnicking on the river.
Larry and Mary Ann raised three children, whom he is survived by: Jesse R. Fry of South Williamsport, Bryan K. (Karen) Fry of Bellefonte and Melissa A (Charles) Smith of Lock Haven. He is also survived by one grandchild, Jessica L. Fry of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and his sister, Carol Manlove of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael E. Fry.
Friends will be received Saturday, Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home. Services will be held at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home that day at 10:30 a.m. with Father Brian VanFossen officiating.
Interment will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
