Morris D. Hollick Jr.
Morris D. Hollick Jr., of Woolrich, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services, Jersey Shore.
Born Dec. 25, 1926 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Morris D. Hollick Sr. and the former Beatrice Tinney.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, the former Carlyne M. Savage on May 10, 2006. They were united in marriage on July 14, 1951 in Danville.
A son, Mark S. Hollick, also preceded him in death, on Jan. 13, 1995.
Morris honorably served his country in the United States Army in the South Pacific, and afterward, retired from Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service.
He was a faithful member of the Woolrich United Methodist Church. Morris loved spending time outdoors while fishing and hunting, and also enjoyed bowling.
Surviving are a son, Craig L. (Terri) Hollick of Woolrich; daughters Vicki A. (Robert) Bell of Lock Haven and Amy L. (Chris) Gallagher of Lock Haven; five grandchildren, Jason, Cody, Matthew, Lauren and Jacob; and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Gabby.
A funeral service honoring Morris will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N Main St., Jersey Shore. Visitation times will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening and 9 a.m. Thursday morning, Jan. 5 until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. Pastor Don Peters will officiate.
Burial will be held in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, with full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Morris’s name may be made to the Susquehanna Home Care/Hospice at 1100 Grampian Blvd, Williamsport, Pa. 17701.
