Rose E. Pursel

Rose E. Pursel, 80, formerly of East Water Street, Lock Haven, passed away Jan. 1, 2017 at the Susque-View Nursing Home.

Rose was the widow of the late Thomas M. Pursel who passed away July 1, 1991.

She was born on June 2, 1936 in Mill Hall to Ralph and Lois Butler Bower.

Rose worked at the Lock Haven Legion and the Avis American Legion as the head steward. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Rose enjoyed camping at the Little Bit of Heaven Campground and spending time in her garden.

Rose is survived by two sons, Thomas M. (Minnie) Pursel III and Ralph M. Pursel, and two daughters, Laura (Vincent) Sementilli and Kathy (Colton) Gottshall, all of Lock Haven; six brothers, Richard, Toner, George, Robert, Harold and Harvey Bower; and four sisters, Sarah Korman, Lois Brookens, Marie Murray and Kate Allen; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by four brothers, John, Ralph, Larry and Calvin Bower; and four sisters, Margaret Marr, Carol Perry, Anna Mae Bower, and Mary Jane Bower.

Funeral services for Rose E, Pursel will be held Thursday,  Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Janis Heiser of the River of Life Fellowship Church, Lock Haven. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park,  Lock Haven.
