Donna R. Walker

Donna R. Walker passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 14, 2017, at the age of 81. Donna was born on Aug. 12, 1935, in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Lewis and Julia (Decker) Zimmerman. She married her high school sweetheart, Franklin L. Walker, on June 4, 1955, and he survives. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy L. Walker.

Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her family was the center of her universe, and they loved her beyond measure. She enjoyed spending time in Lancaster with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Donna was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, where she served on the church council and sang in the choir for many years. She was a 1953 graduate of Lock Haven High School, where she was a cheerleader and played on the basketball team. She retired in 1997 after a long career with Keystone Central School District.

In addition to her loving husband, Donna is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Emmet of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Michael Emmet Jr. and Mary Kathleen (Fraser Davis) Emmet; one precious great-granddaughter, Gaia Emmet; a sister, Emma Shortledge of Lock Haven; and a brother, David Zimmerman, of Pomaria, S.C.

A memorial service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Lock Haven.
