Frances Mae Mosser

Heaven gained another angel Frances Mae Mosser, 96, formerly of Clinton County, who passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Williamsport Home.

Born June 22, 1920 in Hyner, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Moyer) Hibbler.

Frances attended Farrell Elementary School and graduated from Renovo High School in 1938. Through hard work and scrubbing floors, cleaning houses and the generosity of her Aunt Pet, Frances graduated from Lock Haven Teachers College with a degree in Elementary Education.

She taught 32 years in Elementary Education. Her journey began in the one room school house at Slate Run (1941), Farwell (1942-43) North Bend (43-44) Westport (48-49) to Peter Twp., Lamar Twp., Castanea, Flemington, and Mill Hall Elementary and was long and rewarding. She lives in the memories of those she touched even after retiring in 1982. Her loving, caring, generous, kind heartedness extended to all throughout her retirement.

Frances was a 50 plus year member of Rowena Order of Eastern Star, now Ivanhoe Chapter 28, a member of Rote United Methodist Church, Mill Hall Church of Christ and a life member of PSEA, and many other organizations.

Her favorite Bible Verse is 1 Corinthians 12: 4-7 and her favorite songs are: In a Land Where We Never Grown Old, One Day at a Time, I Don’t Know About Tomorrow, O Master Let Me Walk, and Under His Wings.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Bruce Mosser, Jr. (Connie) and William Mosser; daughter in laws, Alice Mosser and Tami Mosser; four grandchildren, Darrick Mosser (Atsuko), Kristin (Curt) Adkins, Bryon Mosser and Travis Mosser; five great grandchildren; CJ, Connor, and Ella Adkins, Meg and Masato Mosser. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frances’s name to a charity of one’s choice.

We all say goodbye Frances! You have earned your wings to fly high as the eagles and watch over those here on earth as they attempt to live their lives as you lived yours.
