Doris B. Taylor

Doris B. Taylor, 88, formerly of Salladasburg and Camp Hill, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg.

Born Sept. 1, 1928, in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter to the late George Long and the former Sarah Sewalt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Jack” Taylor, whom she married on June 12, 1948. He died on Oct. 2, 2001.

Also preceding her in death were sisters, Jean and Mildred, and a brother, Dale.

She attended Saint Timothy Lutheran Church since 2012 and was an active member of the Salladasburg United Methodist Church since 1958. For many years, she served her church as a nursery school teacher, church treasurer and choir director.

She retired from Sewalds Laboratory in Williamsport in 2006 after many years as the bookkeeper.

Doris loved her flowers, gardening and playing the piano, but her greatest love was her family.

She is survived by a son, Gary L. (Julie) Taylor of Elimsport; daughter, Debra J. (Keith) Eslinger of Camp Hill; four grandchildren, James Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Lara Reinard and Stephanie Stehman; and four great-grandchildren, Issac Taylor, Hanna Taylor, Caroline Snyder and Joseph Stehman.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Salladasburg United Methodist Church, 310 Main St., Salladasburg. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services in the church. Rev. Elizabeth Taylor and Rev. Keith Eslinger will officiate.

Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
