Elmer Butler, Jr.

Elmer Butler, Jr. of Mill Hall, passed away on July 23, 2017, at the age of 84.

Son of Sylvester and Helen Butler of Lock Haven, he was born on Nov. 3, 1932, in Flemington.

He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1950.

He was employed for 32 years at Piper Aircraft. He moved to Marietta, Ga., in 1984 to work for Lockheed Martin and retired from Boeing, Macon, Ga.

He returned to live in Pennsylvania in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and tinkering with computers.

Mr. Butler was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ and the Lock Haven Elks.

He is survived by Patsy Butler (Lamey), his high school sweetheart of 65 years. Mr. Butler had five children, David E. Butler (PeggyAnn) of Kylertown (deceased), Susan VanGorder (Robert) of Atlanta, Ga., Douglas Butler (Brenda) of Duncansville, Cynthia Prough (Steven) of Lock Haven and Tracy Renner of Chesapeake, Va. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall, Pa. 17751, with Rev. Tom Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
