Steve A. Caris

Steve A. Caris, 61, of Lock Haven passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Lock Haven Hospital.

Born on Jan. 15, 1956, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Sheldon and Mildred Winslow Caris.

He was a 1975 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

Steve served in the United States Navy.

He was employed by Winner’s Meat Locker, then as a supervisor at Avis America. Steve later started S & R Contracting.

Steve was a former member of the Sons of Italy, Moose, VFW, and Castanea Fire Hall.

He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

Steve enjoyed fishing and going on fishing trips to Canada.

He also liked to play cards and golf.

Surviving is a son, Joseph M. Caris of Lock Haven; three daughters, Michelle L. Caris of Lock Haven, Stephaine J. Smith of Pittsburgh and Sabrina Caris of Lock Haven; two sisters, Judith (David) Young of North Carolina and Joyce (Richard) Gill of Liverpool; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne “Butch” Caris.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at 4 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
