Leonard W. Stroud Jr.
Leonard W. Stroud Jr., 28, of Avis, passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, Aug. 10, 2017, at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born Sept. 10, 1988, in Williamsport, he was a son to Leonard W. and Barbara (Moyer) Stroud, both of Avis.
Lenny was a 2006 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, where he played football and track and field. Earlier in his life he played baseball for many years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, including ice fishing. His passion was racing four cylinders and late model cars at Clinton County Motorsports Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway. He loved collecting many things including fishing poles, guns and ammo.
Surviving are his loving wife, Elijah M. “Ellie” Stroud, they were united in marriage Sept. 24, 2006; his devoted dog, Kimber; three siblings, George S. Ergott of Pine Creek, Brandy (Casey) Fenstermaker of Pine Grove and Erika West of Elimsport; paternal grandmother, Alice B. Stroud; maternal grandmother, Amelia Moyer; nieces and nephews Zay, Sydney, Ethan, Connor, Madison, Cassidy and Callie; and his goddaughter, Aubree.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James H. Stroud Sr., and his maternal grandfather, George S. Moyer.
A funeral service honoring the life of Lenny will be held 7 p.m. Sunday evening, Aug. 13, 2017, at Lifetree Church, 500 River Road, Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
