Thomas M. Hanna, Sr.

Thomas M. Hanna, Sr., 95, of 27 Hemlock Drive, Lock Haven, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at the Lock Haven Hospital Skilled Rehab.

He was born June 29, 1922 in Lock Haven, the son of the late Horace F. Hanna, Sr. and Loretto D. Dennehey Hanna.

On Oct. 29, 1941, he married the former June Catherine Quiggle who survives.

Tom was a 1940 graduate of the former Immaculate Conception High School and attended the Lock Haven Teachers College. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy.

He was owner of the H. F. Hanna Agency, insurance and real estate, Lock Haven.

Tom was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, now Holy Spirit Parish. He was also a lifetime member of the Lock Haven Elks, VFW, and the Clinton Country Club. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid Penn State Nittany Lion fan.

In addition to his wife of 76 years, he is survived by a daughter, Jeanne M. Mullen, of Lock Haven; two sons, Thomas M. Hanna, Jr., of Bellefonte, and John D. Hanna (Susan), of State College; a brother, Horace F. “Buck” Hanna, Jr., of Lock Haven; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret M. Costella; two brothers, Justin P. Hanna, and James J. Hanna; and a son in law, Robert L. Mullen.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Orr officiating.

Interment services with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lock Haven.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert L. Mullen Family Scholarship at Lock Haven University. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty Funeral Home and Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
