Dale Bower Stebner, 77, of Williamsport, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Grace K. (Shive) Stebner on May 11, 2017.
Born Jan. 11, 1940, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Raymond F. and Helen J. (Bower) Stebner.
Dale was a graduate of Williamsport High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1958 to 1962. He was formerly employed by AVCO Financial Services in Lock Haven and retired from M&T Bank after 30 years of service. Dale had worked at M&T in Montgomery, Sunbury, Lycoming Mall and Center City.
Dale was a member of St. Paul Calvary United Methodist Church where he was part of the Dorothy Long Sunday School Class. He served on the Boards of Divine Providence and Muncy Valley Hospitals, the Hiawatha and Allenwood Federal Prison Community Board.
Surviving are a son, David B. Stebner (Michelle); three grandchildren, Hannah Grace, Natalie Rose, and Joshua Aron Stebner, all of Rhode Island and a sister Sandra D. McGinnis, of Montoursville.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna L. Spiegel.
A memorial service to honor the life of Dale will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19 at St. Paul Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with the Rev. Jennett Wertz officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at St. Paul Calvary United Methodist Church.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to St. Paul Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, Pa. 17701.
