John S. Lohr, Jr.

John S. Lohr, Jr., 60, of Mill Hall, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

John was born on Nov. 7, 1957, a son of the late John S. and Frances Muirhead Lohr, Sr.

He was a backhoe operator at Suburban Water Authority in Mill Hall.

John served his country in the U. S. Army.

John is survived by his son, Solomon Lohr of Mill Hall; his life-long companion, Brenda Quiggle of Mill Hall; his sister, Alice (Chris) Hinton of Bellefonte; his brother-in-law, Mel Laubscher of South Carolina; his grandson, Isaiah Lohr of Bellefonte; and his faithful companion, Daytona.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sallie Laubscher, and his brother David Lohr.

John loved to ride his Harley-Davidson and go to Bike Week in Daytona. John also continued the family business of Lohr’s Concessions at numerous county fairs and carnivals.

When John entered into any conversation with family or friends, he had the first word and would conclude with the final word. He was always able to solve the world’s problems with his cronies at McDonald’s in Lock Haven.

There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, Pa. 16828.
