Margaret L. ‘Peggy’ Wert

Margaret L. “Peggy” Wert, 80, of 92 Barton St., Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Lock Haven Hospital.

Peggy was born in Malden, Mass., on April 27, 1937, the daughter of the late Vincent and Elizabeth M. Malaison LeBlanc.

She was a graduate of Chatham High School of Chatham, Mass.

On Sept. 1, 1956, in Malden, Peggy married C. Wayne Wert who survives.

She was employed as a seamstress at the Woolrich Woolen Mills Avis plant for many years before her retirement.

Peggy was an active member of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ and enjoyed preparing pumpkin rolls and hoagies for their fundraising events.

Peggy was an avid sewer and baker and was proud to have been a loyal blood donor throughout her life. Following retirement she volunteered on a weekly basis at the Salvation Army of Lock Haven. She also served as Judge of Elections for the Lock Haven Fifth Ward for many years. Most of all, Peggy adored the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Timothy (Amy) of Dallastown, Pamela (William) Herman of Lock Haven, Daniel (Sabrina) of Pleasant Gap and Peter (Bree) of Lock Haven; two brothers, Edward and John LeBlanc, both of Massachusetts; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth LeBlanc.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lock Haven First Church of Christ, corner of Water and Vesper streets, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
