Randall Everett Schantz

Randall Everett Schantz, 64, known by family and friends as Randy, passed away at home on Nov. 29, 2017 surrounded by his family, after a short but valiant battle with cancer.

Randy was born in Lock Haven, June 11, 1953, but also lived in Lancaster County and Philadelphia, where he graduated from WB Saul School of Agricultural Sciences in 1972.

He was a charter member and past president of the Woolrich Lions Club. For many years Randy raised strawberries, sweet corn and other vegetables, selling them at the Baird Schantz Farm Market on Route 150, which he ran with his grandmother Nellie Baird.

Randy and his wife Vicki, the love of his life, actually met the first time in a farm field. Together they enjoyed riding and traveling on their Harley Davidson motorcycles.

After clearing a river lot Randy spent many hours there enjoying time with his wife, close friends, and his dogs. He successfully raised multiple generations of beautiful peacocks. In 2017 he and his mother received the Farm Family of the year awarded by the Clinton County Conservation District.

Randy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Victoria Gorini Schantz; his mother, Betty Schantz; sisters, Cynthia K. Adams and Laurie Stephenson; nieces and nephews, Amanda and Daniel Stephenson, Audra Meehan, and David Adams.

A memorial service to celebrate Randall E. Schantz life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at 11 a.m., in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday morning, one hour prior to the services.
