Rosie P. Massaro
Rosie P. Massaro, 95, of Lock Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at Homeland Center, Harrisburg.
Born Palma Rose Campana on April 5, 1922, in Avis, she was a daughter of Carmela Ianonne Campana and Michael Campana.
She was a member of St. Agnes Parish.
Rosie was truly an amazing woman. She was a devout Catholic and an unfailing mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend — and the hardest working person that we’ve known. Along with her talents for cooking and sewing, dancing and homemaking, she worked as a loyal employee of Sylvania in both Mill Hall and Montoursville for some 40 years.
She never failed to put others first, was a positive influence to all, and a model for who we’d like to become.
Rosie was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Angelo Massaro, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Mary Navarro, Jean C. Kunes and Katherine Maffett; and four brothers, Anthony Campana, Frank Campana, Vincent Campana and Robert Campana.
She was the proud mother of the late Michael J. Massaro, also to Stephen A. Massaro and his wife, Paige, of Camp Hill; loving grandmother of Dominic R. Massaro of Atlanta, Ga., Anthony A. Massaro and Elena Rose Massaro of Camp Hill; loving sister of Violet Russo of Jersey Shore; and adoring aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will follow in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.
