Mary Louise Livingston Smith

Mary Louise Livingston Smith, 99, of 1014 Renovo Road, Mill Hall, Pa. passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 18, 2018 with her family remaining vigilant through her final days on earth.

Born July 24, 1918 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Raymond D and Anna P. Brady Motter.

Louise, as she was lovingly known, was the consummate caregiver to her family and friends. She was twice widowed, to Kenneth A. Livingston in 1971, having been married for 34 years and to Joseph M. Smith in 1991, having been married for 14 years.

She was employed by Sylvania as a tube tester, American Color & Chemical in a clerical position and was a nurse’s aide at Lock Haven Hospital.

Louise also volunteered as a hospice worker helping others through their final days and with H & R Block as a tax preparer. Her home was used as a polling place for Allison Twp. And she served as a secretary/treasurer for the township for many years.

In between these jobs she nurtured her grandchildren and nieces while assisting her children and sister, with whom she was very close, pursue their professional growth and careers. Louise was especially filled with joy as being a five generation grandparent three times.

After being widowed, her constant companions were her four legged friends who lived with her at her home along the Renovo Road.

Her hobbies included camping, fishing, crocheting and knitting and gardening. She was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, the Elks Auxiliary and the Sr. Circle.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith G. (John)Frazier, of Lock Haven, Pa.; one son Thomas R. (Carole)Livingston, of Mill Hall, Pa.; one step-son James Smith; four granddaughters, Christina Livingston (Jeff Frank), Lori Frazier (Kenny Jones), Susan (Dan) Conway and Jennifer (George Paucke) one step-granddaughter, Gina Fox; three great-grandchildren, Morganne (Jon) Bresnock, Kaitlyn (Gannon) Chapman and Jeremiah Paucke; six step-great grandchildren, Tami (Torrance) Pedigree, Danny J. (Brandie) Conway, Brent Paucke, Jeffrey (Margot) Frank and Natashia Carter; three great-great grandchildren, Jase Bresnock and Holdan Paucke and Isaac Chapma; three step-great-great-

grandchildren, Hunter Schwartz, Ethan Carter and Paulson Carter and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond D. Motter, Jr. and Richard B. Motter; one sister, Rev. Marjorie Glascow and one step-great-great-grandson, Aleksandr P. Frank.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mary Louise Livingston Smith will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., Lock Haven, Pa. with Rev. Taylor Camerer officiating.

Friends will be received Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dean K. Wetzler, Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, Pa. and 1 hour prior to services in the church.

Internment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

The family would like to thank the nurses at UPMC who gave Louise round-the-clock perfect care.
