Gladys Hope (Barner) Flanigan

Gladys Hope (Barner) Flanigan, 76, of Branford, Conn., and a former Loganton resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Branford Hospice.

She was born Sept. 7, 1941, in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late Floyd and Genevieve J. (Miller) Barner.

Gladys was a registered nurse for Arthur Taub, MD, PhD, P.C. in New Haven, Conn., for 20 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Tylersville.

Gladys was a member of the American Nurses Association, American Academy of Physicians Assistants. She was an avid reader, needlework artist, doll and Harmony Kingdom collector.

Surviving are a daughter, Hope Anne Flanigan, of East Haven, Conn.; two brothers, Douglas Barner and Kim Barner, both of Loganton; and two sisters, Joan Boone, of Loganton, and Leesa Zettle, of Ocala, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Barner.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced by the Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall.

Interment will be in the family plot at Tylersville Cemetery.
