Howard W. Wooding Sr.
Howard W. Wooding Sr., 90, formerly of Center Street, Lock Haven, passed away Feb. 3, 2018 at the Susque View Home where he had been a resident.
He was born Jan. 25, 1928 in Jersey Shore to the late Burton and Mildred Farringer Wooding.
He was united in marriage to Violet L. Moore who preceded him in death July 6, 1995.
Howard was a graduate of the Lock Haven High School and had attended the Williamsport Area Community College taking up the trade of masonry.
He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World War II in the Medic Core, and was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.
He had worked most of his life at AVCO Lycoming in Williamsport retiring from the plant in the mid eighties, he had also been an avid roller skater and a member of the Lock Haven American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include two sons, Howard W. Wooding Jr., of Lock Haven, and Lynn B. Wooding, of Windsor, Conn.; six grandchildren, Wendy, Carrie, Amber, Kodi, Tyler and Sierra; one greatgrandson, Noah; a sister-in-law, Vivian Glossner and three nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dolly Kitchen, and a brother, Gary Wooding.
Funeral Services for Howard W. Wooding Sr., will be held on Tuesday Feb. 6, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Fairpoint Rd., Mill Hall, Pa. Officiating will be pastor Mark Riley of the church.
Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park. Family and friends will be received in the church one hour prior to the services.
