Margaret M. Confer

Margaret M. (Marg) Confer, 96, of Kephart Plaza, Lock Haven, was reunited with her family and loved ones in Heaven on Feb. 22, 2018.

She was born Feb. 5, 1922, and was the only child of Ray and Florence Lair Walker. Living in Lizardville most of her life, she attended Lamar Township school. She and her late husband, Carl “Nin” Confer, resided in Lizardville until she relocated to Kephart Plaza in 2001.

Marg worked at Lubelles in Lock Haven, and at Island Poultry, Sylvania and Clinton Paper Co. and retired from Champion Parts in Beech Creek in 1984. She enjoyed knitting sweaters and dish cloths for family and friends, reading, tending her flower gardens, cooking for family gatherings, league bowling at Clinton Lanes and her beloved cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 1994, and their son, David Ray Confer, in 1957.

Surviving Marg are a nephew, Carl (Peggy) Mumbauer of Williamsport; sister-in-law Judy (Ray) Pursley of Altoona; brother-in-law Ronald (Joan) Berry of Mill Hall; caregivers Pamela Hevner, who always thought of her as a “mother”, Matt Walker and Bryce Snyder, Cathy (Bob) McCully, Lisa (Kevin) Peters and Lynn Dapp, all of Beech Creek; Steve (Lisa) Walker of Mill Hall, and numerous cousins and extended family.

A special thank you to her aides, Jamie Willits and Lynn Houtz, her beautician Brenda Frazier, and Sandy Fravel.

Following her wishes, there will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 12 noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev. Mark Reilly officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Private burial services will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall, at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Clinton County SPCA.
