Robert W. “Bob” Hoy

Robert W. “Bob” Hoy, 66, of 147 Stone Ridge Lane, Mill Hall, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at the Susque-View Nursing Home, Lock Haven.

Bob was born January 4, 1952 in Lock Haven, the son of the late Samuel Hoy, Sr. and Betty Bottorf Hoy Baughman.

On May 29, 1971 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Snydertown, he married the former Glenda Meyer who survives.

He was a 1969 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and earned an Associates Degree in 1972 from the former Williamsport Area Community College.

Early in his life he had worked in the family construction business for his father. He then worked for Nestlerode Contracting. He retired after 33 years as a sales associate for the local Ford dealership.

Bob was an avid golfer and a member of the Clinton Country Club, and was also a member of the Lock Haven Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and playing cards with his friends and fellow members of Camp Keg in Cross Fork.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by a daughter, Emily Caris (Jason), of Blanchard; a son, Jaime Hoy (Amanda), of Mill Hall; a brother, Samuel Hoy Jr. (Karla), of Mill Hall; a granddaughter, Bella Hoy; two grandsons, Wyatt Caris, and Corrin Hoy; one brother-in-law, Vaughn Meyer (Lisa), of Bellefonte; a sister-in-law, Susan Meyer, of State College, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in law, Rick Meyer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at 12 noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, Pa., 17745 with the Pastor Frank Hartzel officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
