Betty was a long-time resident of Beech Creek where she helped pioneer the land after relocating in the late 70’s from Washington, DC; She was an accomplished pianist whom while growing up had the opportunity to study under some of the best piano teachers in the DC area. She graduated from Oxon Hill High School, Md. in 1967 and attended Towson University. She loved music and taught piano for 25 years locally; impacting many students lives. Betty was a lifelong organic gardener who loved tending her flowers and feeding her family homegrown, healthy food.

Betty stood strong on the foundation of Love and refused to let the worldly ways sway her. Over the years, her home was a refuge and safe haven to many friends in need. She was an example of how to treat others with kindness regardless of status, color, or prior circumstance until her final days. While her greatest joy came from spending time with her sons and their families; she leaves behind many people who will miss the joy and heart felt hugs she spread everywhere she went. Her spirit has been received and she now rests with our Almighty Creator.
