Constance A. Yost

Constance A. “Connie” Yost, 77, of Antes Fort, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 at Manor Care Health Services, Jersey Shore.

Born Feb. 2, 1942 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter to the late George Burchill and the former Leone McBath.

Surviving is her husband, Clarence W. Yost Jr., they were united in marriage July 13, 1963; a son, Richard W. Yost of White Pine; a daughter, Lynette M. Yost of Antes Fort; brother, Richard (Suzanne) Burchill of Longmont, Colo.; three grandchildren, Nicole, Hannah and Bryan; great-granddaughter, Adalynn; and ex daughter-in-law and more like a daughter, Carol Yost.

Connie was a very involved mother in the lives of her children. She was a PTO Mom for many many years, and coached Lynette’s slow pitch and high school softball teams and never missed a game.

Connie was instrumental in starting booster clubs at Jersey Shore for girls basketball and softball. She was also very active in her church which includes singing in the choir and running the church bazaar for the Women of the Church.

As a vital piece of the puzzle at the Antes Fort Village Park, she helped with getting the softball fields started and running the concession stand for approximately 15 years.

Many memories were made and good times had. Her laughing, joking and playing tricks on people were always evident on any given Sunday during softball season.

Her and Bill liked to follow their granddaughters softball careers and traveled many a mile to accomplish this fete. Her grandchildren and great granddaughter were the apples of her eye. She was a great wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by many.

Connie was a former member of the Antes Fort Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, which she was active in for many years. She was also a current member of the Jersey Shore Legion Auxiliary.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 South Broad Street, Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service at church. The Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Rising Anew Fund.
