Thomas W. Klinefelter

Thomas W. “Tom” Klinefelter, 76, of Beech Creek, passed away at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

Born on Jan. 23, 1943, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Ward and Gladys Rhul Klinefelter. On Oct. 1, 1965, in Flemington, he married Gloria J. Lucas, who survives at home.

Tom was a 1961 graduate of Sugar Valley High School. He was enlisted in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge.

He worked at the Bethlehem Wire Rope and then continued working there after the name changed to Williamsport Wire Rope. He retired after many years of service.

Tom was an avid outdoors man. He loved to be in the woods, Ginseng hunting, fishing, camping, and trapping. He enjoyed exploring Gettysburg. He was looking forward to mowing his lawn this spring.

Tom could fix any car, until they became so computerized. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife; two sons, Timothy W. Klinefelter and his wife, Shannon, of Beech Creek, and Thomas D. Klinefelter and his wife, Darla, of Mill Hall; two daughters, Mary B. Harris and her husband, Paul, of Mill Hall, and Caitlyn E. Klinefelter of Beech Creek, and one sister, Margaret Greninger and her husband, Sam, of Avis.

Also surviving are his six grandchildren Lucy Hartman, Matthew Harris, Andrew Harris, Heather Harris, Zachery Klinefelter, and Shelby Klinefelter and eight great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Klinefelter.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at noon with Pastor Alan Eckenroad officiating. Burial will follow at the Schenck’s Cemetery in Howard with full military honors.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kader-Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 135 Main St., Howard.
