Anthony Jacob Breon

Anthony Jacob Breon, 71, of Avis passed away on Jan. 2, 2019, in his home.

Tony was born on Dec. 11, 1947, in Jersey Shore and grew up on a small farm in Antes Fort. Tony did not stray too far from his roots during the course of his life primarily residing in Antes Fort, Jersey Shore and Avis.

Tony was a son of the late Harry S. and Lena (Bamonte) Breon.

Tony is survived by two sons, Michael A. and his wife Michele of Mechanicsburg and Jonathon P. and his wife Jen of Pittsburgh, and a sister Gloria Shurer.

Tony is also predeceased by five half-brothers, Homer, Paul, Robert, Harry Lee and James.

Tony graduated from Jersey Shore High School class of 1966 then went on to earn an associate degree in Business Management from Williamsport Community College. He then pursued his dreams of owning his own business. He founded The Ideal Convenience Market chain which became well known for their 30-inch hoagies.

In later years, he started a consulting business by the name of Business Solutions.

Tony was an automobile enthusiast with an extensive collection of classic cars which he restored and showed at exhibitions across the state, winning him several trophies.

Tony’s dislike for the winter months would lure him to the west coast of Florida where he would enjoy the warmth and take in the beauty of the area. He was looking forward to a permanent move to Florida after retirement.

Tony is noticeably missed by his pet cat, Mr. Wilson.

A celebration of life will be held at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740 on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. A reception will be held afterward at Pier 87 in Montoursville between 1 and 4 p.m. If you plan on attending the reception, please email mbreon@icloud.com with your name and number attending.
