Aileen E. Dorman

Aileen E. Dorman, 95, of Mill Hall, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing, Lock Haven.

Born on March 21, 1924 in Aaronsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Bessie Bower Hazel.

On June 13, 1948, she married the love of her life, William “Harold” Dorman, who preceded her in death on June 20, 2017.

Over the years Aileen worked at the Railroad Shops in Renovo, the Renovo YMCA, an aircraft factory in Texas during WWII, as a cook at Clinton Country Club, the Lock Haven Children’s Home where she cooked and cleaned and retired from Murata Erie of State College.

She was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ.

Aileen was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning and baking pies and cookies, especially her delicious apple pies. She liked word search puzzles, playing cards and board games. Her life revolved around her family, who she took pride in taking care. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren whom she adored. She also loved her family trips to Rehoboth Beach and her Christmas Eve tradition of having Santa Claus to her home for the family gathering.

She is survived by three sons, W. Wayne (Bonnie) Dorman of Madisonburg, Dennis L. (Kathy) Dorman of Mill Hall and Steve (Carol) Barker of Madisonburg; three daughters, Pamela R. (Steve) Killinger of Mill Hall, Sharon M. (Dave) Farrington of Lamar and Lucille M. Kilpatrick of Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Billy Hazel, Phyllis Auman, Betty Eichenlaub and Marie Meyer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Rev. Dr. Russel Moldovan officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
