Edna M. Toner

Edna M. Toner, 96, of 7838 Nittany Valley Drive Mill Hall, Pa., died July 24, 2019 at Nightingale’s Assisted Living, Mill Hall.

Born May 30, 1923, in Mill Hall, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ohma Guttshall Smith.

On Dec. 19, 1943, in Virginia, she married William F. Toner, who died Nov. 23, 2005.

Edna was a graduate of the former Mill Hall High School and had worked at Sylvania and later was a cafeteria worker for the Keystone Central School District. She was a member of the Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church, enjoyed crocheting, going for motorcycle rides, which she had done several weeks before her death, and visits with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Christy J. (Patrick) Steinbacher, of Mill Hall; one son, Jody D. Toner, of Mill Hall; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Terry N. Toner, who died June 8, 2003; one grandson, Brandon N. Steinbacher; one sister, Mildred Tompkins; five brothers, Nelson, James, Emory, Donald and Frank Smith.

A funeral service honoring the life of Edna M. Toner will be held 9 a.m. today, July 26, 2019 at Rest Haven Memorial Park, with her pastor Pastor Scott Garman officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church or the Lamar Twp. Vol. Fire Co. through the funeral home.
