Edith Elizabeth (Standal) Kiycheff

Edith Elizabeth Kiycheff, 93, of Lock Haven, went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2016.

Edith was born on June 19, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Ben and Edna Standal. She was the third of six children.

Edith served her family and country with love and devotion. Edith enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on Dec. 14, 1943, and was honorably discharged as a U.S. Marine Corporal on Sept. 25, 1946.

She married George Kiycheff, who survives, on June 25, 1949, and raised two girls while working.

Edith is survived by her brother, Kenneth Standal; her two daughters, Lynn Kiycheff of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Katherine Marcell of Lock Haven; her grandchildren, Bryan and his wife Kerri Williams of Arizona, Rebekha and her husband Dan McCloskey of Mill Hall, and Sabrina and her husband Nathan Burns of Lock Haven; her great-grandchildren, Raven and Ashton McCloskey, Brady and Brock Williams, and Melody Burns; and her great-great-granddaughter, Ainsley McCloskey. She is also survived by her daughter in the Lord, Marian Conn and her family.

She has been a resident of Susque-View Home for five years and has made many friends there. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she has touched. Her greatest joy in life was seeing her great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful believer in the Lord and was looking forward to being home to be with her Father in Heaven and all her family and friends who were waiting for her to join them.

A memorial service will be held at Susque-View Home, 20 Cree Drive, Lock Haven, on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Dennis Callahan officiating.

Edith’s family will attend her final resting place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where she will receive a veteran’s burial with full military honors.
