Applause, Applause!

Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.

Congratulations to Lock Haven Skilled Nursing and a humongous THANK-YOU for the awesome care you provide to the residents of Graham Meadow Memory Care Unit. This group of individuals from nursing, aides, housekeeping, etc., have such compassion in the difficult job of caring for loved ones suffering from memory loss. One can continually witness their love and respect for all the residents. They provide a listening ear when neeeded to all, residents and family, too. A huge hug to you all and thank you for being true professionals of nursing.

At about 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, I was making my way to Grugan Township to work the polls when I discovered that I had a flat tire. I called a friend to pick me up at Hanna Park, and when I got there — my tire literally smoking! — two members of the Lock Haven police force, who stopped by to see if everything was OK, offered to change my tire for me. Because I was in a hurry to get to the polls on time, I wasn’t able to take them up on their offer or even get their names. So I want to use this forum to tell them how much I APPRECIATE them. And I also want to thank the folks at Bitner’s Gulf Station, who took the time to change my mangled tire that afternoon so that when I finally got back to Hanna Park that night to pick up my car, I was able to drive it home, smoke-free. For these kind generosities from the folks in this town, I am grateful.

Sgt. Terry Banfill was kind enough to replace our flag at the STEP Clinton County Community Center. Please APPLAUD the “Sgt. Terry Banfill Family.”
