Distrust

ROBERT DEVAUL

North Bend

In response to Richard Tobin’s letter to the editor on Sept. 14, entitled “Blowing smoke,” about Hillary Clinton’s emails.

So, if no one asks, it’s OK to have 112 classified e-mails on a non-government server so highly classified that even Congress wasn’t allowed to see them?

Colin Powell had a separate government computer for his official work. His AOL account was for his personal use. We now find out that the FBI didn’t ask all of the questions it should have about her server/e-mail set up. WHY is it that anyone involved with Hillary Clinton has refused to testify about anything?

Taking the fifth is not transparency; it fosters distrust.

We will have different views on what occurred at Benghazi. The bottom line: Nothing was done then, and nothing has been done since.

The Clinton Foundation is still being investigated, I believe, by the same people who investigated her e-mails.

There are a lot of questions still unanswered on both subjects. While being raised, I was told I would be judged by the company I kept, and by my actions.

It seems our politicians have lost their way. Maybe it is the “smoke,” or more likely, dishonesty.
