LOCK HAVEN – Transform Lock Haven, a “hometown mission trip,” will hold a planning meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St.
The mission weekfocuses on home repairs for the elderly or disabled in the community and will be held Monday through Friday, Sept. 12 to 16.
Volunteers continue to sign up to serve. Volunteers are asked to give $5 per day toward the cost of breakfast and lunch which will be provided.
Forty people have registered to help at last report, not counting Lock Haven University students. (The $5 fee is waived for LHU students.)
A volunteer orientation for everyone who can make it will be held Sunday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at Covenant Church. Enter through the main church doors, next to the parking lot.
Around 20 applications have been received for home repairs, and the core planning team is considering which ones can be accomplished during “Transform Week.”
Funds raised total $4,189 at last report, including $300 raised by the Mr. Sticky Sticky Buns fundraiser and a generous $1,000 donation from an anonymous individual. Donations are still being sought and accepted, including contributions of needed building materials.
