The readers write

FRANK L. FORSHA

Montoursville

I guess when it comes down to readers providing information to benefit the general public, be it the value of a local fundraising event, acknowledging a member of the public, or possibly some public issue that the populace, by being informed, can resolved, these are of value!

However, this behavior of trying to impose one’s point of view or political opinion upon another amazes me.

It goes on and on. One trying to convince another that a particular political decision or issue is right or wrong is ridiculous.

Not one side will toss in the towel and recognize the other to be totally or partially correct.

No concession.

Both sides, diametrically opposed to each other, outspoken and never conceding. I appreciate reading good information, but this spouting off to deaf ears is really just plain dumb.

There is a point where one needs to take stock in the fact they have said what they feel needs to be said and move on. Hearing and reading public opinions when there is no resolution is an utter waste of time and a component of human behavior I can do without. I’ve tried it. I have had my opinions, verbally expressed and written them, but to actually expect someone to change is futile.

We know you are there. We know your opinion today and tomorrow. It would seem those who continue to engage in this back and forth dialoque are driven to do it to satisfy some basic drive for attention? A compulsion? Freedom of speech? Say it so many times and things will change? What?

Okay, we heard you. Who has changed sides? By the way, it is just not the news paper, it is in all the media and somehow we are rewarded by this?

Sorry, I do not want to ruin your fun but to repetitiously write articles or report on arguments with no end is something each person really needs to evaluate and consider if it has some real value. A lot of people need to pause before they share their thoughts, and evaluate what this self expression really has offer to themselves, and to others.
