‘Everything’ on the table with Jersey Shore school budget

C. BURT FRANCIS

Jersey Shore

I quote from the Nov. 5, 2012, copy of a special meeting of the Jersey Shore Area School Board, “Board President Robert Prior outlined the procedure to be followed when the board allows comments from the floor. You will be given three minutes to speak and no response will be made by the board. Your request will be forwarded to the FAQ (frequently asked questions) department and that person will respond on the school district web site.”

At the recent Monday, Oct . 23, school board meeting, I asked the following question and hoped to get a a simple yes or no answer: Will the administration, in its November budget report to the board, suggest any school closings?

The answer came two days later on the district’s website titled FAQ and I quote, “Everything will be on the table.”

The media, parents, voters and taxpayers might want to check the position of the upcoming election of candidates for school director on this matter.

See you at the Nov. 13 meeting.
