Flag not flown at half staff?

For the past several months, a local veteran, Jerome Abbott from Miles Township, has ask repeatedly that the Miles Township supervisors at their monthly meetings in Rebersburg correctly lower the flag to half staff when the need is called upon.

It is the flag that is flown above the Miles Township Veterans Monument. This flag pole is directly across from the local grade school and that flag has always been properly flown at half staff when it was deemed necessary to do so. So far as I’m concerned, first the township supervisors have declined to honor Vietnam Veterans correctly for their sacrifices and now they don’t understand how to properly display the American flag. Fifty years ago when I lived in Rebersburg, this would not have happened. Their actions are wrong, and don’t reflect the honor we all need to show toward the sacrifices that made this country so great.
