Take time to thank the veterans

Thomas Jefferson said, “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.”

Every individual is created with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Sadly, evil exists in the world and has often stripped individuals of their rights, even before they’ve exited the womb. Too often we forget that nothing in life, absolutely nothing, is free, even if it should be.

Everything comes with sacrifice, even if it is not at our own expense.

Certainly, the world we live in is not perfect, but it could be very different, and perhaps far worse, without the sacrifice of our military. We do not ask for their sacrifice. Each and every man and woman who has fought for this nation deserves far more honor and respect than they receive.

We, as college students are grateful beyond words for the dedication and sacrifice of our military. With Veterans Day near, we all remember to say thank you, but it should be something we remember to do daily.

A simple thank you will never be enough, but it is still an appropriate and appreciated action.

With that, we would like to offer our sincerest gratitude to all the veterans out there, in our community and beyond. Thank you. And to everyone else, remember to thank the military men and women in your life for protecting your rights to life and liberty.
