Thank you, Lock Haven community
MAJOR SHARON CUPP
The Salvation Army of Lock Haven would once again like to THANK the Lock Haven Community for helping us again this Christmas season to provide a Christmas for 394 families, children, and shut-ins this year.
First of all, thank you to Walmart, Denny’s, Northwest Savings Bank, and Evergreen Commons for hosting one of our Angel Trees this year. Also, thank you to Coca Cola, Solvay, Croda, Susquehanna Valley Big Twin Motorcycle Co., Great Island Presbyterian, Faith United Methodist, Bobby George, and Toys for Tots who partnered with us in providing toys, clothing, and gifts to the children. A special thank you to Bill Bechdel for all you did!
Secondly, we want to thank the Guild of Craftsman, Faith United Methodist, Fish Real Estate, Superior Plus, Rachel’s Dance, Susquehanna Eye Care, and the individuals and families who adopted families this Christmas. We also want to thank the businesses that allowed us to have our kettles at their locations to help raise the needed funds we use for our programs. Those businesses include Walmart, Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction, Condo’s, Dunkin Donuts, First National Bank in Loganton, Mill Hall Pharmacy, Northwest Bank, OIP, Pizza Hut, Roxy Movie Theater, Save-A-Lot, Second Cup Restaurant, Tractor Supply Co., Unkel Joe’s Woodshed, Walker’s Hardware, and Restless Oaks Restaurant. This year, we were able to raise $52,827.14…..which is Amazing! We also can’t forget to mention a thank you to all of those in the community that donated!
We are also very fortunate to have partnerships with service clubs, churches, and businesses that each year volunteer to stand and ring the bell to help us. This year, we would like to thank Lock Haven Rotary, Jenn Hilty and friends, Knights of Columbus, Lock Haven Kiwanis, KCSD, McElhattan United Methodist, Beech Creek Wesleyan, Salvation Army Home League, Clinton County Community Connections, Dunnstown United Methodist, Great Island Presbyterian Church, Sugar Valley Kiwanis, LHU Women’s Basketball, Phelp’s Chapel, Bald Eagle Boy’s Club, Scout Troop 54, Clinton County Emergency Services, Northwest Bank, Swissdale United Methodist, Lock Haven Jaycees, Dutch Haven, First Church of Christ, Christian Motorcyclist Association, Lock Haven Class of 1981, LS Kids, Liberty United Methodist, and Kappa Delta Rho. We also have many, many individuals and families that stand. Each hour that you donated is appreciated beyond measure.
A special thank you to our Kettle Driver Jim Gill who made sure that the kettles were where they needed to be!
We also want to thank the individuals, groups, churches, and businesses that helped us to pack food boxes, set up our Christmas Castle, sort toys, helped during our distribution, and did so much more. Thank you to the college students that helped to wrap gifts for our More than Bread program and for the nursing homes! A huge thank you to Save-A-Lot for donating over 300 bags of food that we were able to use as part of our food boxes. Thank you to C&E Containers for donating the cardboard boxes for the distribution.
This is no easy task each year, but because of our FANTASTIC community, we are able to get these things done. Thank you again to all of those who helped. I am sure there are some we missed, and we do apologize … please let us know if we missed you!
But trust me, whatever you may have done, we appreciate it.
Blessings to all of you during this New Year!
